SALARY LEVEL: An all-inclusive salary package of R495 603 to R583 800 per annum (Level 11)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A 3 year Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or qualification at NQF level 6, with 2-3 years’ experience in information systems and/or a Grade 12 Certificate plus 6 years of experience in information systems 3 years’ experience must be at Management Level
  • A post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in setting up and administering networks
  • Experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of a fully integrated Electronic Security System [Access Control and Alarms, CCTV, DVR/NVR Systems]
  • Candidates must have advanced knowledge in security systems and all forms of low voltage DC power applications, be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to work with little guidance, have strong project and task management skills, strong Interpersonal skills, and excellent customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding and knowledge of Risk management environment, Criminal procedures Act and Departmental legislation. Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • A valid driver’s license and be willing to travel.

 

DUTIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following specific tasks:

  • Provide engineering design and supervision for installations of security systems for numerous DHA sites, and Security Control Rooms
  • Ongoing technical support for design, installation, and maintenance of security, fire, access control, CCTV, intercom, and other related electronic security and communication systems/networks [dedicated] is also a major part of this position
  • In addition you will be required to conduct technical security training
  • Responsibilities also include assisting in the investigation of ethics violations and criminal matters by providing data, video, and system reports
  • Computer system/network experience, attention to detail, solid technical background, ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrated technical security and computer network skills, and excellent customer service are essential for this position
  • Ensure alignment of security technology and systems operations strategy with the overall Counter Corruption and Security and DHA Strategy
  • Assist in the development of identified policies and procedures in conjunction with the policy. and strategy of the unit
  • Develop security technology and systems operations processes for the Department. Coordinate and manage relevant projects
  • Provide input to Counter Corruption and security services governance processes, frameworks and procedures and ensure effective implementation
  • Ensure compliance with all audit requirements, quality and risk management framework, standards and procedures.
