Kimberly - Minister of Home Affairs, Naledi Pandor and Acting Premier of the Northern Cape Chrishelda Cjiekella will on Saturday 09 March 2013 launch the Home Affairs-Northern Cape Provincial Stakeholder Forum at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre from 10h00.
Stakeholder forums have been become an intrinsic element of the Home Affairs strategy to engage communities in governance processes within the department of Home Affairs. In this context, a total of 254 municipal stakeholder forums out 283 municipalities have been established across the country.
These forums assist communities in accessing basic home affairs services in all centres across the country and help the department in unblocking any logjams that may affect service delivery levels in the department across the country.
In addition members of the forums help in mobilizing communities around Home Affairs campaigns with a particular focus on the National Population Registration Campaign aimed at the registration of child births within 30 days of delivery; mobilization of youths of 16 year-old to apply for ID’s and to end the scourge of late registration of child births.
The launch of the Northern Cape Provincial stakeholder forum will be preceded by a gala-dinner to be held Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre on Friday evening 8 March 2013.
