The Minister of Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba, will attend the launch of the EU-UNODC Project known as the Global Action to Prevent and Address Trafficking in Persons and the Smuggling of Migrants (GLO-ACT).
Spearheaded by the United Nations Office aims on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the project aims to strengthen the criminal justice response to trafficking in persons and the smuggling of migrants in the 13 strategically selected countries across the globe. In addition to providing assistance to governmental authorities, the project will also benefit civil society organizations as well as victims of trafficking and smuggled migrants directly.
The National Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocate Shaun Abrahams is expected to attend the launch.
