Home Affairs Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan will visit Plettenburg Bay next Monday as part of the department’s outreach programme. She will meet Marriage Officers in a bid to halt marriages of convenience and also interact with the community on a range of home affairs services.
The department will use this opportunity to promote the upcoming community outreach programme of 8-12 September in Bitou and Knysna during which home affairs services will be made locally available to the people.
The outreach programme will be used to raise awareness on the importance of registering children within the first 30 days of birth and to mobilize communities to support the campaign against late registration of birth.
