New York - African Union Commission Chairperson and South African Home Affairs Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma today Sunday 23 September 2012 held bilateral political discussions with the Brazilian Foreign Ministers Antonio Patriota in New York, USA.
Former Minister Dlamini Zuma is in New York ahead of the 67th United Nations General Assembly and is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings during this visit. Several senior South African government officials' delegation from various government departments have arrived in the US lead by the president of the Republic His Excellency president Jacob Zuma.
Dr Dlamini Zuma met with minister Patriota within the context of consolidating the strategic political, economic and trade relations with Brazil within the framework of advancing the Brazilian- African Union relations.
The AU Chairperson is further to meet with the United Nations General secretary ban Ki Moon later today.
Meanwhile, it's all systems go for preparations for the scheduled UNGA67 which is expected to be officially opened on the 25th September 2012 at the UN headquarters.
President Jacob Zuma is expected to address the GA on the day of the opening.
