Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan will interact with visitors and share information on services at the home affairs department’s exhibition, in Hall 7, Rand Easter Show, tomorrow, Saturday 26 April 2014, from 10H30 to 11H30.

The Department of Home Affairs has since day one of Rand Easter Show 2014, 18 April, put up and exhibition with other departments to showcase what government is doing for the people and to guide visitors on how to access public services faster.

Home affairs has been to the Rand Easter Show over the years informing visitors about services it provides from the cradle to the grave, including birth certificates, IDs, marriage certificates and death certificates. This year the department expanded its role by providing information on what citizens require to apply for the Smart ID card and other enabling documents.

This year’s Rand Easter Show is important for us as it falls in the 20 years of freedom, justice and peace. It offers the right moment to honour the legacy of former president Mandela as we celebrate the nation’s achievements over the first 20 years of freedom.
