The Minister of Home Affairs, Naledi Pandor (MP) will be bestowed with an honorary doctorate by the Stellenbosch University on Friday, 13 December 2013, at 10h00, during the University’s graduation ceremony.

The Degree in Philosophy (PhD), honoris causa, which the University will confer on Minister Naledi Pandor is for her impressive contribution to public office, among others as chair of the National Council of Provinces and as cabinet minister responsible for three different portfolios, as well as for serving as a driving force in the transformation of education and the promotion of science and technology in South Africa.

Minister Pandor, an alumna of the Stellenbosch University, was, among others, chairperson of the National Council of Provinces and has held three cabinet appointments, as minister of Education from 2002 to 2009, of Science and Technology till 2012 and, since then, of Home Affairs.
