Cape Town – Home Affairs Minister, Naledi Pandor will this evening, 29 November 2013, at 19h30, deliver the 06th Iman Abdullah Haron Memorial Lecture, at the Solly and Zohra Noor Auditorium, Islamia High School, Imam Haron Road (formerly Lansdowne Rd) , Lansdowne in Cape Town.
Minster Pandor lecture will focus on women’s rights issues and the role of women in the struggle for social justice in South Africa.
Minister Pandor has been invited by the Imam Abdullah Haron Education Trust (IAHET).
According to the Trust, these lectures are part of keeping the memory of the late Iman Abdullah Haron, who died in police custody on 27 September 1969, alive.
Minister Pandor will join a list of high profile personalities who have delivered the lecture in previous years, including the late Prof Neville Alexander, Minister of Economic Development Ebrahim Patel, Justice Albie Sachs and Prof Jonathan Jansen.
