Home Affairs Deputy Minister Njabulo Nzuza presided over a handover ceremony today, presenting 65 recipients with their official birth certificates during a Department of Home Affairs Services on Wheels outreach at the Raymond Mhlaba Sports Centre in Motherwell, Gqeberha.
The initiative is part of the Department’s ongoing nationwide drive to address Late Registration of Birth, ensuring that citizens who were not registered at birth can finally establish their legal identity and gain access to essential government and social services.
Deputy Minister Nzuza highlighted the importance of the outreach: “Through the Services on Wheels initiative, the Department of Home Affairs continues to bridge the gap between remote or under serviced communities and government resources, helping more people secure their legal identities and fully exercise their rights as South African citizens”.
Deputy Minister Nzuza concluded: “Every birth certificate issued is a step towards recognition, dignity and inclusion!”
