The Minister of Home Affairs, Naledi Pandor, on Monday, 27 May 2013, spent the entire day in the Free State province, Lejweleputswa District Municipality assessing her Department of Home Affairs' levels of service delivery.

Minister Pandor's visit started at Welkom Home Affairs office, where she met with the provincial home affairs senior management.  The meeting was followed by a walk-about as well as interaction with with both staff and clients.

At about 11h00, Minister Pandor  assisted with the distribution of uncollected Identity Documents in and around Welkom as well as issuing birth certificates to parents of newly-born babies at Bongani Hospitals.  She was joined by the members of the Lejweleputswa Stakeholder Forums.

The entourage  stoped-over in Thobong township, where an outreach programme, involving other government departments, such as Health, Social Development, and Home Affairs offered their services to members of the public.

Minister Pandor's visit to the Free State province culminated in a public participation event, which took place at Theunissen Municipal Hall.
