The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Njabulo Nzuza together with the Deputy Minister of Basic Education Dr Reginah Mhaule will on Tuesday, 16 June 2020 facilitate the applications for identity documents for matriculants in Mpumalanga as part of Youth Month celebrations.

Following government’s decision on the reopening of schools for Grade 7 and Grade 12 learners, the Department of Home Affairs has taken a decision to gradually phase in the application of IDs for matriculants in line with COVID-19 regulations pertaining to services offered to the public. As part of the visit, Deputy Minister Nzuza will highlight the impact of the collaborative efforts between the Departments of Home Affairs and Basic Education to roll out a national programme to facilitate the application of IDs for learners who are first applicants as well as matriculants.
