Home Affairs acting Director-General Thulani Mavuso has welcomed the appointment of Dr Siyabonga Cwele as Minister of Home Affairs.
 
The acting Director-General said, “on behalf of the department and all officials, I warmly welcome the Minister’s appointment at a time when exciting developments are taking place in the department and in government. Given his role as Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services, Minister Cwele is very familiar with Home Affair priorities, including those around IT systems and modernisation”.
 
With his vast experience in government and the respect he commands across various sectors of society, we look forward to excellent leadership and great prospects for this strategic department, and for our people broadly who expect high quality services, the Acting Director-General explained.
 
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the appointment of Minister Cwele at the Union Building today as part of changes to his executive, made in light of recent vacancies in Cabinet.
