A holder of a national passport (diplomatic, offi cial or ordinary) / travel document of the following countries / territories / international organisations is not required to hold a visa for an intended stay of 90 days or less and when in transit:

The Special Measures Act facilitates the hosting and staging of the 2010 Federation International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup in South Africa in accordance with the Organising Association Agreement between FIFA and South African Football Association (SAFA) and the guarantees issued by the South African government to FIFA.
This group of travellers includes all non FIFA Accredited foreign individuals who are required to purchase Match Ticket(s) for the FIFA World Cup event..

FIFA has put an accreditation process in place to assign a travel status ….
FIFA has put an accreditation process in place to assign a travel status to an individual. This process is only applicable to those individuals that FIFA believes do satisfy the accreditation requirements. FIFA family members apply for accreditation before leaving their country of origin. This accreditation qualifies the traveller for the following;

As we acknowledge South Africa’s preparations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup ™, we feel honoured to be the first to welcome visitors to our shores for the tournament.

We have gone all out as the Department of Home Affairs to put measures in place, which will ensure that our visitors experience a warm African welcome at our ports of entry.

We have just successfully piloted, during the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009, the concept of an event visa. Such a visa with no precedence in the world, will also be utilized for the 2010 FIFA World Cup ™ and other major events beyond.
The Department of Home Affairs will leave an everlasting legacy for South Africa through our revamped immigration infrastructure and improved work ethics.
